Wanda Faye Rogers peacefully passed away at her home in Penrose, Colorado on August 19, 2025, at the age of 85 years old.
Wanda led a full and adventurous life and was deeply loved by all her family and friends. She was born on May 25, 1940, in Marion, Kentucky to Vada (Teer) Rogers and Cavit Rogers. After graduating high school, she did some work in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana and New Mexico before she found her beloved state of Colorado. Wanda started working for Emerson in Colorado Springs, Colorado in April of 1961. In 1967 she worked for Hewlett-Packard in Colorado Springs until she decided to retire for the first time after working there for 35 Years in 2002. After retiring from HP, she decided to pursue a new career in the wine industry. In 2002 she went to work for The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City, Colorado, which she truly enjoyed and made many more close friends in the community. She later retired for her second time in 2012 but continued to love and support the winery.
Wanda was very adventurous from the many places she travelled to, ski diving, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, white water rafting, picking corn on the cob and of course fishing whether it be in the deep sea, lake, pond or river.
Wanda is preceded in death by her father Cavit Rogers, mother Vada (Teer) Rogers, siblings Juanita (Teer) Peck, Cavit Rogers Jr, Raymond Rogers, Dorothy Rogers, John Ed Rogers, Perry Rogers, Sylvia Rogers, Patricia (Rogers) Marr and her beloved dogs Taboo, Token and Teeko. She is survived by her brother Leon Rogers along with several much-loved nieces, nephews and very close friends that she considered as family.
Memorial Service is 11AM, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Mexico Baptist Church located at 175 Mexico Rd, Marion, KY. Interment will follow in Mexico Cemetery.
Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY is in charge of arrangements.
