Virginia Hunt

October 30, 1918 — May 7, 2008

Virginia Lee Hunt, 89, of Crittenden County passed on to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 12:45 a.m. May 7, 2008 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville , Illinois .

She was born on October 30, 1918 in Fredonia , Kentucky the daughter of the late Henry M. and Mattie M. Turley. She was a long time member of Pleasant Hill Regular Baptist Church outside Marion , KY where she had taught Sunday school and served faithfully as the Pastor’s wife for many years.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Eld. William E. Hunt “Bill” of Hunt Brothers Feed Store, Marion KY. Her daughter Linda L. Easley and son in law Joseph L. Easley of Belleville , IL , her son John W. Hunt of Evansville, IN, her grandsons Jae Easley of Belleville, IL, Lee Easley of Knoxville, TN, Chris Hunt of Lexington, KY, her granddaughter Paige Easley of Sumter, SC Great Grand Daughter Anna Easley (Joe’s Daughter of Sumter SC). and her sister Ida Belle Schmitt of Boonville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Martin, Clifton and John Henry Turley, and two sisters Mary Louise and Rachel Turley.

Funeral services are Monday, May 12, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Cortis Hill and Rev. Jerry Thurman officiating. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 11 or after 9:00 a.m. on Monday May 12. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association.
