Thetna Virginia Hughes

Thetna Virginia Hughes, 92, of Cave-In-Rock, IL passed away on November 21, 2025 at the Saline Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Harrisburg, IL. She was born to William “Edward” Lampert and Vada (Suits) Lampert in Cave-In Rock on October 27, 1933. She was a member of the Mt. Zion General Baptist Church and worked as a beautician most of her life. Thetna is survived by her brother , Ivan (Stella) Lampert, daughter, Rita Dennison; granddaughter, Wendy Wade; grandson, Jeff (Sonya) Dennison; grandson, Bobby (Kelly) Dennison; grandson, Jeremy (Julie) Dennison; 14 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Those who knew Thetna will remember her for her never ending sense of humor, her deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and the way in which she was able to spread love and kindness to everyone she encountered. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.

Thetna was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hughes; parents, William “Edward” and Vada Lampert; sister, Wanda Grace; brother, Wilburn “Mug” Lampert; brother, William “Dude” Lampert, Jr.; and brother Wilford Lee Lampert.

Hardin County Funeral Service is in charge of services. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 11am – 1pm at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church with Funeral following at 1pm. Rev. Tom Easley will officiate. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
