Ricci Laree Mundy

Ricci Laree Mundy, born October 14, 1966, passed away on January 23, 2026, at Baptist Memorial East Hospice in Memphis, Tennessee. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and an unwavering love for animals.

Ricci was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Dee Ann Mundy.

She is survived by her partner of 25 years, Eileen Castine; her brother, Butch Mundy (Stephanie); her sister, Becky Back (Darrell); and her cherished nieces and nephews: Jordan Mundy, Luke, Addison and Rachel Mundy, and Woody Back.

A native of Sturgis, Kentucky, Ricci later made her home in Memphis, Tennessee, where she lived for 34 years. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Western Kentucky University, reflecting her natural empathy and gift for connecting with others.

Ricci was a business partner at Mr. Scruff’s Pet Care, where she turned her lifelong love for animals into a meaningful calling. She was known for treating every pet with patience, tenderness, and genuine affection. Her laughter was contagious, and she had a sense of humor that lightened any situation.

Ricci will be remembered for her kind heart, her devotion to animals, her loyalty to family and friends, and the quiet strength and joy she brought into the lives of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
