Mark Andrews O’Steen, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on April 19th, 2026. A native of Memphis, TN, he was the son of the late Jack and Bonita O’Steen.

Mark graduated from Bartlett High School in 1975. He graduated Memphis State University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Cum Laude. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a window clerk for 37 years. He was an avid historian with a photographic memory, remembering everything he read. He enjoyed participating in living history events and Civil War reenacting for over 40 years. He was often spotted wearing vintage era clothing, as he embraced history and liked presenting the past. Mark enjoyed attending Bellevue Baptist Church regularly and a weekly bible study at Lutheran Village Retirement Community where he lived. He often visited other churches, venues, and groups where he immensely enjoyed being in the company of others, and worshiping Christ.

Mark is survived by his brothers, David O’Steen (Xenia) of Bartlett, TN, Stephen O’Steen (Melanie) of Greensboro, NC, James O’Steen of Apple Valley, MN and sisters Allison Curry (Mark) of Winston Salem, NC and Rebecca Smrt (John) of Bartlett, TN and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 13th at Bellevue Baptist Church, Chapel, (2000 Appling Road, Cordova, TN 38016), visitation from 1pm- 2pm with a service to follow. A private family graveside service and burial will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.
