Linda Gayle Cox

Linda Gayle Boyd Cox, age 79 of Marion, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church. Linda enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing the piano and painting beautiful pieces of art. She was also a big fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Kansas City Chiefs football.

Survivors include one son, Tim Cox, Marion, KY; one daughter, Melissa (Gary) Harper, Fredonia, KY; five grandchildren, Matthew Wayne Cox, Jolene Dawn Sherman, Wesley Alan Cox, Jessica Buchanan, Roy Givens; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Holland, Evansville, IN; special friends, Reggie Hodge, Marion, KY, Jessica Bane and Amber Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Carl Boyd and Mildred East Boyd; her husband, Rev. Wendalenous Joel Cox; one son, Matthew Aaron Cox and two sisters, Jean Williams and Beverly Cotton.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 16, 2026  at the funeral home with Rev. John East officiating. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery.
