Kenneth "Dolittle" Shelley

Kenneth "Dolittle" Shelley, age 60, of Marion, KY passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at his home. Kenneth was born on October 6, 1965, in Gary, IN, to the late William and Annabelle Wilkens Shelley. Kenneth was a Heavy Equipment Operator for IUOE 181. Kenneth loved the rodeo and was a member of PRCA and IPRA. He was a gifted team roper, winning multiple awards. Kenneth also loved firearms and was a member of the NRA.

Survivors include his lifelong companion, Marsha Burkeen; son, Lane (Jessica) Shelley; daughter, Amanda Alsobrook; stepdaughter, Tiffany (Scottie) Brown; sisters, Doris Belcher and Dee Ross; brother, Bill (Pam) Shelley; grandchildren, Brier Brown, Brayton Brown, Ida Shelley and Loren Lopez.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his son, Michael Todd Shelley.

Funeral services for Kenneth Shelley will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Lovell officiating. Friends may call starting at 4:00 PM until service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to The Kentucky High School Rodeo Association.
