Joyce Belt

Joyce Lorane Belt, age 87, of Newburgh, IN and formerly of Gilbertsville and Marion, KY. passed away Monday, April 7, 2026. She was of the Baptist faith and had been a member of Marion Baptist Church, West End Baptist Church in Paducah and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion. Joyce was a loving mother who enjoyed sewing, quilting, bird watching, traveling, reading the Bible and spending time with her family. She was a retired bookkeeper/accountant having worked for J.C. Penney Company for several years and also for the city of Marion.

Survivors include three sons, Glenn (Jennifer) Belt, Newburgh, IN; Anthony (Anita) Belt, Warrensburg, MO; Clark Belt, Benton, KY; two brothers, Donald Travis, Gilbertsville, KY and Dennis (Kay) Travis, Providence, KY; one sister, Janet (Robert) Golden, Newburgh, IN; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. “Sonny” Belt; parents, John and Rona Coleman; four sisters, Mary Belle Hosick, Ruby F. Lucchesi, Ann E. Staub and Marjorie Higgs; and one grandson, Chad A. Belt.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, April 17, 2026 at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion, KY.
