James Clinton Riley, 88, of Marion, KY passed away August 18, 2026 at his home.
Clinton was born on August 9, 1938 to the late William Randel and Margie Simpkins Riley. He was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. After retiring from Smith Construction/Local 181 he worked for many years at P&H Farms. After retiring from P&H he enjoyed playing golf every Saturday and riding his chuckwagon with his best buddy, Grover, but above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Golda Riley; daughters, Shelia (J.W.) Patterson of Indiana, Carol (Jim) Perry of Marion, KY and Maxine (Scott) Ray of Salem, KY; son, James (Laurel) Riley of Paducah, KY; 5 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 15 great grandchildren; best buddy, Grover Riley; brothers, Charles Riley and Tommy Riley; sisters, Donna Ball, Mary Ralston, Betty Miller, Anita Scheeringa, Faye Waters, Tennie Murray and Wanda Kinnis and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Clinton was preceded in death by his brothers, William Randel Riley, Jr., Paul Riley and Edward Riley and sister, Carolyn Peek.
Services are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY with interment in Frances Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 PM Wednesday August 19, 2026 and from 9 AM until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
