James Darnell

James Calvin Darnell, age 69, of Marion, KY passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his home. James had worked as a logger and core driller in the forestry industry. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, DeAnna and Jamie Moody, one brother, Thomas Eric Darnell, Quincey, IL; five sisters, Debbie Holmstrom, Princeton, KY, Nora Guess and Anna (Mike) Herriman, of Osceola, AR; Larua Darnell, Marion, KY; Mary (Steve) Love, Burna, KY, and several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Darnell and Virginia Herron Darnell and one sister, Karen Darnell Winters.

There will be no visitation or services at this time.

Gilbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.
