Georgetta McBee Morris

September 22,1950- April 30,2024

Georgetta was the daughter of George “Muckel” McBee Junior and Orpha Earline Covert McBee. She was born in Rosiclare Illinois September 22, 1950. As a child, Georgetta was a fun loving girl who just liked hanging with her cousins who were mostly all boys. She found an appreciation for old sports cars, sci-fi, and got her father’s joking nature. She graduated from Rosiclare High School in 1968. Georgetta soon married Wendel Dennis Morris and had two daughters Kimberly Dawn and Karie Ann, she also raised her granddaughter Kristin Diane. Georgetta never met a stranger and even spent most days having lengthy conversations in Walmart aisles and anywhere the mood struck. Her personality was one of a kind. Georgetta worked at Ervin Cable Construction in accounts payable, a clerk at Rutherford Insurance Company, and in later years worked as a Paraprofessional for Harrisburg Schools and a Safety Sitter at Harrisburg Hospital. She was a member of Rosiclare First Baptist Church for many years. Georgetta cherished family and some of her most cherished friends were her cousins and neighborhood community, especially Becky Barnard who helped her a lot through her battle with dialysis. Georgetta also was a very proud GiGi to her only great-grandchild Addilyn. Her favorite past times were spending time with her family, art, crafts, and yard work. With a heavy heart her long journey ended while in Lourdes Hospital April 30, 2024 with her loved ones at her bedside and the best care she could receive in her time of need.

Georgetta is survived by her mother Orpha McBee, daughters Kimberly Dawn Knop (Jeremy Knop), Karie Ann Morris, Granddaughter Kristin Diane Morris, and great-granddaughter Addilyn Jayde Welten. She is proceeded in death by her father George McBee Junior, and ex-husband Wendel Dennis Morris.

Any donations can be made to the American Kidney Foundation in her honor. At this time services will be held privately and family will let those who wish to attend know when those arrangements will be made. The family would like to thank all of those who were there to help in their time of need whether it be calls, visits, or just prayers.
