Douglas Tipton

Douglas "Hook" Tipton, 64, of Elizabethtown, IL. passed away at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky, on June 28, 2011 at 6:50 P.M. He was born on August 24, 1946 in Detroit, MI. to Elisha Tipton and Grace (Short) Tipton. He was a self-employed wildcrafter.
Mr. Tipton is survived by his wife: Ruby (Sharp) Tipton of Old Shawneetown, IL.; Daughter: Heather Tipton Smith of Middlesboro, KY.; Daughter: Addie Tipton King of Harlan, KY.; Daughter: Marie Tipton of Old Shawneetown, IL.; Step Daughter: Sadie Hill of Old Shawneetown, IL.; Step Son: Roger Combs of Old Shawneetown, IL.; Brothers: David, Homer, Johnny, & Roy W. Tipton; Sisters: Idamae Maricas & Judy Winters; Many Grandchildren, Nieces, & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, and a Brother: Wade Tipton

As per his wishes, Mr. Tipton will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Elizabethtown First Baptist Church. Visitation will start at 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family and left at the church. Rev. Ed Lafferty will officiate.
