James Ray "Jim" Scantling

James Ray "Jim" Scantling, 83, of Elizabethtown, IL died February 11, 2023 at his home. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and member of Hardin County Golden Circle.
Survivors include his children, Michael (Lorie Ann) Scantling, Kurt Scantling, James Ray Smith, Joseph Smith, and Julie Smith; beloved companion, Christine Gilland; grandchildren, Ben Carson, Luke, Rose, Amy and Jacob; several great grandchildren and sisters, Joyce Goff and Linda Wiland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Scantling; son, Scott Eric Scantling; parents, James Martin and Dorothy Odell Scantling; brother, Alton Scantling and sister, Helen Griffin.
Services are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday February 18, 2023 at Hardin County Funeral Service in Rosiclare, IL with interment in Central Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the Hardin County Golden Circle.
Military Rites will be given at the cemetery on Saturday
