Mr. James Lewis "Possum" Simmons

James Lewis “Possum” Simmons, 62, passed away at his residence on October 18, 2014. He was born in Cave In Rock, IL. on June 20, 1952 to Lewis Raleigh Simmons and Rowena Janice (Brookmyer) Simmons.
He is survived by a Daughter: Emily Simmons; Sister: Carolyn and Charley Frayser; Daughter in Law: Ann and Jr. Goolsby; Grandchildren: Rocky Denton, Abby Denton, Jessy Goolsby, Jaelene Goolsby, and Johnny Simmons; “Brother”: Earl Long; Special Friend: Patty Spivey; one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his Parents: Lewis and Rowena Simmons; Sister: Della Mae Simmons; Brother: Carmel Ray Simmons.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Rose Gilbert Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. As per his wishes, Possum will be cremated and the family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
