Ida Ruth Banks, 79, of Herod, IL., passed away on Saturday January 3, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on December 4, 1935 in Herod, IL. to Sam Burton and Elsie Pyles Burton. She was a member of Bethany General Baptist Church.
She is survived by her Husband: Alvin Banks of Herod, IL.; Daughter: Patti and Ronnie Barnard; Son: Gary and Monica Banks; Daughter: Linda and Dale Joiner; Son: Steven Banks; Daughter: Carolyn Derringer; Grandson: Chris and D.J. Banks; Grandson: Jason and Allisha Banks; Granddaughter: Heather Banks; Granddaughter: Jennifer and Jeff Bailey; Granddaughter: Angela Roberts; Grandson: Justin Phillips; 14 Great Grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, and cousins,
She was preceded in death by Granddaughters: Melissa and Rhonda Barnard; Great Granddaughter: Hailee Phillips; Parents: Sam and Elsie Burton; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held at Cox Funeral Home on Thursday January 8, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 A.M. until funeral time. Rev. Arthur Austin Jr. will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Lavender Cemetery.
