Edward Kirk Downey, 103, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday January 17, 2015 at 2:00 A.M. He was born on November 9, 1911 at Rosiclare, IL. to William Oliver Downey and Anna Belle (Volkert) Downey.
He is survived by a Daughter: Barbara Ann Wingo; Daughter: Diann and Robert Hartman; Son: Edward K. and Deanna Downey; Son: E. Kirk and Alice Downey; 10 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Greatgrandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Anna Belle Downey; Wife: Barbara Irene Downey; Two Brothers: Leo Downey and James Manhart.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be on Thursday January 22, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday January 21, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fluorine Cemetery.
