Barbara J. Dixon

Barbara Jean Whitt Dixon, 79, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Saint Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was born November 24th, 1936 in Salem, KY to George “Buster” and Lahoma Whitt. She married the late William “Bill” Dixon on December 24th, 1956.
She was a loving mother of the late Anthony “Tony” Dixon and surviving Jeffrey “Jeff” Dixon. Caring grandmother of Anthony “Shane” Dixon and Ashley (Daniel) McKee. Wonderful great grandmother of Caitlyn, Leah, and Logan. Sister of the late George “Buddy” (Anna Lou), surviving Janice (Jim), Sandra, and Larry (Dawn). Barbara is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Barbara was a long time resident of Winchester Kentucky. She worked and retired from Clark County Regional Hospital. She was also a volunteer for Winchester little league baseball for many years. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church. The biggest joy to her was spending time with family. Barbara was the most generous, forgiving and loving person.
Visitation will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home, 117 W Bellville St, Marion, KY 42064 on March 26, 2016, from 12pm to 2pm. Services beginning at 2pm and immediately following she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Mapleview Cemetery, Marion, KY. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Winchester Parks and Recreation in her name.
