Larry Pennell, 73, of Cave in Rock, IL. passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Rosiclare Rehab and Healthcare Center, Rosiclare, IL.
Larry was born on December 13, 1944 to Thurman “Jarg” Ester and Dorothy Veldene (Dutton) Pennell. Larry was a mechanic and owned Pennell’s Auto Repair. He also was an avid competitive shooter and loved hunting.
Survivors include his mother, Veldene Pennell; daughters: Lisa Diane Pennell and Jennifer Rebecca Walters; brother: Rev. Stan (Nancy) Pennell; grandson: Austin Walters; 1 niece: Lindsay Pennell; 1 nephew: Robert Pennell; and 1 great niece: Katie Pennell.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Thurman Pennell; and brother, Terry Michael Pennell.
Funeral services will be held at Rose Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave In Rock on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Stan Pennell officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery in Rock Creek. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
