Jewell Duffy

Jewell Beatrice Dollins Duffy 84, of Marion passed away March 19th 2014 at Baptist Health in Paducah KY. Mrs. Duffy was born February 15, 1930, The Daughter of William N. and Grace Newbell Dollins, in Slocum of Livingston County. She professed faith in Christ at a young age at Barnett Chapel Church during a revival.

Jewell graduated from Marion High School, Marion, KY. on May 14, 1948 and married Raymond Duffy on May 24, 1948. to them was born a son, Nobel Glenn Duffy, who only lived six hours a he was born prematurely.

Jewell worked at Farmers Bank & Trust Company in Marion from February 11, 1949 until June 30, 1990, as a secretary to Hollis C. Franklin and H.D. Sullenger.

After her retirement , Jewell was a housewife and sometimes tried her hand at writing, but never made a career of it. She loved farm animals, especially horses. Her great love was for her Lord and Saviour and for the church. She taught Sunday school in much of her life which was a great joy to her.

She leaves a son which they adopted "In their heart" several years ago, Bill Reed, and his wife Phyllis Reed.

Mrs. Duffy was preceded in death by her parents William and Grace Dollins , her Husband Raymond Duffy and one Son Nobel.

Funeral services for Mrs., Duffy will be held 11:00am Friday March 21, 2014 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Friends may call from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday March 20, at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mapleview Cemetery
