DOYE M. POWELL, age 80, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015. She was born on July 31, 1934 in Crittenden County, KY. Doye retired from Anderson Company after many years of service. Doye was a devoted wife and mother and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Cheryl Powell of Hobart; brother, George Robert "Red" (Brenda) Benton of Marion, KY; many nieces and nephews.
Doye was preceded by her husband of 62 years, Bobby, in May of this year. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie (Henley) Benton; sisters,
Wilma and Marie Benton, Loretta McDaniel, and Anna Rushing; brothers, James and Alfred Benton.
A funeral service for Doye will be Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Additional visitation will take place Friday, June 26, 2015 from 11:00 until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, Kentucky.
