Mr Bertis Franklin Sheldon

Bertis Franklin Sheldon, 70, of Elizabethtown, Il. passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Shawnee Rose Health Care Center in Harrisburg, IL. Bertis was born on December 25, 1946 in Rosiclare, Il. to Bertum Sheldon and Katherine (McElmurry) Sheldon. Mr. Sheldon was a Navy Veteran and a Member of the Masonic Lodge #1144 and the Scottish Rite of Belleville.
He is survived by his Wife: Melba Sheldon of Elizabethtown, Il.; Daughter: Samantha and Mathew Lacy of Fairview Heights, Il.; Grandchildren: Kaitlyn Lacy and Brandon Lacy; Sister: Glenda Kay Mitchell of Rosiclare, Il.
He was proceeded in death by his Parents: Bertum and Katherine (McElmurry) Sheldon.
Hardin County Funeral Service, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. As per his wishes, Mr. Sheldon will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Cox Funeral home. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Masonic Rites at 12:00 p.m., and Service will begin at 1:00 p.m., and officiated by Rev. Fred Birch. Military Rites will be preformed by American Legion # 571 after the service. A private Burial will be held.
